Description
CAUTION!!! READ this before you start working on it!
The disassembly process is quite easy. The bottom cover has 4 screws 2 under the rubber pad (see images). Then there are 2 screws deep down inside to get the boards out and 2 screws to remove the power supply board to reach the back side of that board. All screws are the same size.
CAUTION!!! Be very careful with this board because there are 2 capacitors holding 300V. You need to discharge them before you attempt any repair on this board.
Once that is done locate the Schottky diode MBR5150 marked in images and with the multimeter in continuity mode check for short circuit. If it is shorted then this is exactly the same problem I had! And you just need to replace this diode. One end of the diode is soldered to the board and another to the heatsink. I found it easy to remove the diode with all the heatsink and then remove the diode from the heatsink.
Now just reverse all actions with a new diode and your job is done.
